Combining an eye for detail with a deft, minimalist touch the interior has been thoughtfully furnished and decorated. Individually accessed on opposite sides of the open plan living area, each bedroom is welcoming and comfortable with en suite facilities. Floor to ceiling patio doors keep the whole property airy and fresh while at the same time ensuring those delightful views remain integral to holiday proceedings.

With such comforting environs relaxing will never be easier. Wake in the morning and enjoy breakfast under the pergola as the sun rises over the sweeping arc of the Messinian Gulf, retire in the evening with the lights twinkling along the same curving coastline, a hypnotic glow gently dwindling into the distance.

Day-to-day life in Petalidi (a ten minute drive away) centres around the church of Saint Nikolaos in the attractive town square. A pleasing selection of tavernas, cafés and shops along with a small but still active little fishing port and a beach of sand/pebbles can all be found here.

Once part of the Byzantine Empire countless fascinating sites, both mythical and factual, abound around the Messinian Riviera such as the ancient settlement of Nichorion (6km) which is brimming with history from the Helladic and Mycenaean years, Nestor’s Palace (35km) from Homer’s ‘Odyssey’ or Neo Kastro (32km) on the impressive Bay of Navarino.

This region is also the homeland and key producer of one of the world’s best olives. Subject of many ersatz claims to rival their size, taste, and freshness the Kalamata olive is a mainstay of the area economy and a source of immense pride to the locals. Do be sure to try this famous fruit.
