Exploring the nearby Nazzano, which is the postern to the Tevere-Farfa nature reserve, is most certainly advisable. Visitors can either enjoy fabulous walks alongside the river independently or with a guide who will inform of the area’s impressive flora and fauna.
For a day out further afield, a trip to the walled town of Rieta is recommended, particularly for history enthusiasts, who will be in awe of the vast amount of ancient palaces, churches and Roman remains Rieta vaunts. And that’s before we even get to Rome, which is only 50 kilometres from Casale Ponzano!
