Theme Parks In Andalucia
There are five great theme parks in Andalucia that are well worth checking out, each offering something slightly different to the next:
Tivoli World – Malaga
This is the Costa del Sol’s biggest amusement park. You’ll discover over two dozen thrilling rides to choose from as well as a tiny tots section, restaurants, bars and a professional caliber program of concerts mainly by Spanish performers, as well as some ‘look alike’ stars.
Parque De Las Ciencias – Grenada
This is a new science museum that is located just 2 kilometres south of the centre of the city at Avenida del Mediterráneo. It’s full of hands-on exhibits and there is a designated room for children to explore basic scientific principles.
Isla Magica – Sevilla
Situated in Seville this theme park opened its doors in 1997. It has a theme of a 16th century Spanish colonial adventure and highlight rides include the Anaconda and El Jaguar roller coasters, the latter with high speed 360 degree turns. Another popular ride is the Iguazú set in an Amazon jungle waterfall. There are also various show staged throughout the day, and a cinema with tilting seats and a giant screen where you can re-live an explorer’s adventures.
Mini Hollywood – Almeria
Mini Hollywood is situated 24 kilometres from Almeria on the N-340 to Tabernas. In its heyday there were over 100 films shot here including A Fistful of Dollars, The Magnificent Seven and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. Today, you’ll experience mock bar fights, gun slinging matches, a bank hold up and a full on shoot out. You’ll also dioscover a small zoo here with lions, elephants, brown bears and giraffes. To finish the day off with a bang you can enjoy a cold beer at the Western-style saloon.
Parkilandia – Malaga
More geared up for youngsters, this theme park comprises a maze, trampolines and mini race track, as well as slides, swings, an electric train, bouncy castle and lots more.
