La Tourette – a stunning villa in the South West of France

Vintage Travel boasts a varied programme of houses in South West France. Augmenting the portfolio of villas in this beautiful region of France is the arrival of La Tourrette. This impressive mid-19th century manor has been lovingly-restored to an exceptionally high standard.

La Tourette

La Tourrette is set within a sleepy hamlet that borders the picturesque and peaceful village of Mirandol-Bourgnounac. This six bedroom, four bathroom villa enjoys sweeping views of the lush and leafy meadows of the scenically-stunning Tarn region.

Up to 14 guests can sleep in this grand country house. La Tourrette’s interior is certainly in-keeping with the its bucolic surroundings, with painted beams, intricately tiled flooring and elegant furnishings crafting timeless French appeal.

La Tourrette’s extensive grounds are equally as inviting. A heated pool means guests can take a dip even in those chillier out-of-season months. The ample terraces that surround the private pool provide the perfect spot to dry off in the sun. A fully-equipped summer kitchen is geared towards serious outdoor cooking, whilst the shaded terrace next to the exterior kitchen is an idyllic spot to wine and dine in those long, summer nights.

Being located just 30 kilometres from the city of Albi, guests at La Tourrette would be wise to allocate a day visiting the region’s capital. Being home to numerable architectural and historical treasures, such as the unique fortress-like Cathedrale Sainte-Cecile, which is the largest brick building in the world, it is hardly surprising that in 2010, Albi was given a UNESCO World Heritage status.

The city’s medieval centre can be explored on a number of ways. You could take a leisurely boat cruise down the River Tarn, relax and enjoy the sites on a horse-drawn carriage, or meander around the historical streets by foot. Top-quality French and international cuisine is never too far away in Albi, as the city is plentiful of great restaurants.

A week’s rental cost at La Tourrette starts at £1195 in May, increasing to £2895 in peak season. Outside of peak months, Vintage Travel offers a small party rate, meaning a party of eight can enjoy all the pleasures that go hand-in-hand at La Tourrette for a reduced price.
