With four bedrooms and four bathrooms, Quinta da Lua can sleep eight guests. This traditional stone cottage is done up in a rustic style with exposed stone brickwork on the inside and out and many quirky furnishings and fittings augmenting its cosy appeal.

The spacious and beautifully renovated living room steps out onto an outdoor terrace, where Quinta da Lua’s extensive grounds and wild natural surroundings can be soaked up and enjoyed.

Despite retaining a quaint and traditional feel, Quinta da Lua comprises of many mod-cons, including Wi-Fi, a microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, a DVD player and even central heating for those out of season visits.

With stone walls, wooden floors and attractive wooden shutters framing the windows, the property’s bedrooms are as cosy and homely as the rest of the house. Two of the bedrooms are located in the main part of the cottage and two can be found in a separate annex.

Quinta da Lua is hidden at the bottom of a country lane. Its two acres of grounds are backed with pretty dense woodland. These spacious grounds are made up of tiered lawns, scattered with a diverse mix of fruit trees. Beyond the grounds lies an oasis of natural beauty, which, with a great network of walking and cycling trails, is crying out to be explored either on foot or by bike.

A large private pool lies adjacent to the house, framed by the tree-scattered lawn.

Just a kilometre from Quinta da Lua is Vila Verde, a bustling town with a good selection of restaurants, bars, shops and historical intrigue. Even closer than Vila Verde is the smaller village of Barbudo where you can become immersed with life in northern Portugal amongst the locals.

In low season it is possible for smaller parties of up to four people to rent out Quinta da Lua’s main house only and not the annexe.
