Enjoy Ibiza’s quieter side this summer

Ibiza might have its lively resorts, Playa d’en Bossa or San Antonio immediately spring to mind, but this beautiful Island also offers a tranquil holiday experience, perfect for unwinding and getting away from it all.

Most of the music scene Ibiza is renowned for takes place in the southern area, whilst the northern coast offers wonderful coastline, beaches and scented pine forests. Dozens of tiny coves are crying out to be discovered and explored and can be enjoyed all year round.

On Ibiza’s northern coastline, there are beautiful areas, prime for walking and cycling. Although the season starts in May and eases up in October, all of the Balearic Islands are stunning in spring when the almond blossom is in bloom.

Ibiza is a great destination for activity holidays, but beware you may hit a rainy patch in late autumn. For a truly memorable experience, take the ferry to stunning island of Formentera, which has a chilled-out vibe and Caribbean-like beaches.

Salinas is another well-known relaxation spot on Ibiza, which has calm, shallow water and is ideal for families with young children. With vendors meandering along the beach, chopping up coconuts and fresh pineapple, it’s easy to confuse Salinas with the Caribbean!

For peace and authenticity, visit the smaller quieter resorts such as Portinatx in the north of the island. You can also look at the low-key resorts of Port de Sant Miquel, which is near Benirrás beach, and Cala de Sant Vicent.  Cala Llonga is also lovely and quiet with safe swimming for the family. Santa Eulalia is another laidback resort with lots of waterfront bars, restaurants and interesting shops.
