Kulube Hotel in Kalkan, Turkey – Review

Our very own Pat Sumpter and her husband discover some Turkish delight in beautiful Kalkan – the Kulube Hotel.

I was delighted to visit Turkey for the first time last year to view the villas in our collection and sample a brief stay at our feature waterfront hotel, the Kulube.

With children having long since flown the nest, nowadays I’m on the look out for simple pleasures, a relaxing, comfortable and individual holiday for myself and my husband.

Kulube Hotel, Kalkan

The Kulube Hotel in Kalkan offers all this and more. The combination of a warm welcome, stunning sea views, attentive staff and uncomplicated daily routine of sunbathing and swimming is hard to beat.

Our comfortable, spacious and simply appointed en suite bedroom accommodation was a quiet, calm haven. The most taxing decisions to be made each day, after selecting from the delicious array on offer at the breakfast buffet, would be which sunbathing platform to choose and whether or not to book a table for dinner at the hotel restaurant or take the free transport the short hop into pretty Kalkan town.

Nothing is too much trouble; they’ve thought of everything! From a bell to summon the bar tender to your chosen sunbathing platform through to arranging boat hire if you wish to motor off and discover your own ‘private’ suntrap – it’s all here.

Kulube Hotel View

You could travel half way around the world for a similarly blissful experience but why would you when you can fly direct to Dalaman in approximately four hours, partake of the stunning Lycian Coast scenery en route to the hotel – and, if you left after breakfast, you could be slipping into the warmth of the crystal clear turquoise seas by lunchtime.

All this served up with courtesy, a smile and because the currency is Turkish Lira no guilt feelings of having exceeded the budget – now, where did I put my passport?

Pat has worked for Vintage Travel for 12 years and like all members of the team has visited all the destinations that we have to offer.
