Three reasons children won’t be disappointed with Dinan

The quaint and charming town of Dinan is one of the best preserved and attractive towns in the whole of Brittany. Dinan might be small but it has plenty going on to keep the whole family entertained. Take a look at the following three reasons children won’t be disappointed with this lovely walled Breton town on Brittany’s Cote d’Amor.

Dinan, Brittany

Arts and crafts

Dinan is awash with arts and crafts, which children can enjoy as much as the adults. Visit the many great galleries and craft shops in this pretty little town and learn about the different artists, engravers and sculptors that have blessed Dinan with their talent over the centuries.

The town often puts on art and craft workshops, which might be an enjoyable way to idle away an afternoon or morning with the little ones. In fact, so renowned is Dinan as being a centre for arts and crafts, it has been designated a ‘Ville d’Art et d’Histoire (Town of Art and History).

Soak up the incredible views

It’s not just adults who enjoy superb views, children do too! If you’re visiting Dinan with older children, spend an afternoon climbing the 158 steps to the top of the Tour de l’Horloge, which stands at a lofty 132 feet high. From here, you can see wonderful views over the surrounding area and, on a clear day, can even see as far as Mont St Michel.

Visit the Pirate’s Maze

Just a short drive from Dinan will bring you to the Pirate’s Maze, known as the Labyrinth du Corsaire. This popular attraction comprises of four giant outdoor mazes interspersed with bouncy castles, games, picnic areas and onsite restaurants.

Children will have a great time behaving like pirates for the day at Brittany’s Pirate Maze.
