Calogne’s Casa Isabel – perfectly situated in the heart of the Costa Brava coastline

Just 2.9km from the atmospheric town of Calogne and 3km from the hidden coves and pine-lined trails of the Costa Brava coastline, the spacious and comfortable Casa Isabel is situated in an enviable spot. For those seeking a livelier Catalan experience this great villa is also close to the bustling centre of Playja d’Aro.

In this part of Spain the woodland is wholesome, healthy and plentiful but now and again, through gaps and defiles, it gives way to tantalising glimpses of the azure sea. Eucalyptus and Mediterranean pine trees roll away in every direction upon the land’s natural topography as far as the eye can see. The Catalonia landscape is rich and verdant and Casa Isabel is situated in the heart of it.

The nearby coastline is spectacular and a walk along the coastal path via Tamariu, Llafranc, Calella de Palafrugell and Palamos shows the coast off in its full glory. There are secret little coves with tiny beaches such as El Golfet at Calella and on the north side of Palamos, which are crying out to be discovered. Asides walking cycling is possible on these coastal tracks where the motor cars are forbidden.

Casa Isabel is a comfortable and stylish villa with sensational views of the undulating tree-clad countryside. The garden is well-kept and stylishly landscaped with a superb private pool surrounded by lawns and terraces. Beyond the pool and facing the house is a wonderful barbecue dining area, complete with its own fridge and kitchen, meaning there’s no running to and from the house for forgotten items when dining outside. As well as the main al fresco dining spot there is another exterior dining area under a covered terrace, meaning guests can dine in different spots for different meals.

Internally, the kitchen/living room/dining room are linked together in an agreeable open-plan style. The stylish and up-to-date furniture augments the modern and tasteful style of this comfortable Catalan villa. Casa Isabela sleeps six people in three bedrooms – two doubles and a twin. The master bedroom has en-suite facilities and patio doors which lead out into the verdure and immaculately-maintained garden. For those who wish to visit out of season when the crowds are more sparse, there is full central heating system in the house should you need it.

The Costa Brava (Brave Coast) didn’t get its name without reason. Exploring this rugged and exciting coastal stretch between Llafranc and Calella provides an exhilarating and never to be forgotten experience.
