Castello di Brancialino – A castle rental in Tuscany

Sansepolcro and Castello di Brancialino – Clinging on to Tuscany’s ancient past. If you are wanting to have a cultural break in Tuscany then heading to the town of Sansepolcro could prove prudent. This interesting Tuscan town can be found on the plains of the Upper Tiber Valley, to the southeast of this enlightening Italian region.

This ancient town is believed to have been founded in the tenth century, by two pilgrims named Aegidius and Arcanus. According to legend the two men brought a fragment of the Holy Sepulche to Sansepolcro and built an Oratory, which with the holy relic embedded into the building, became an important place of spiritual worship.

Being encircled by the fertile plains of the Upper Tiber Valley, crops are abundant in this part of Italy and it was in Sansepolcro where, in 1827, the first pasta factory in Italy was opened. The original factory is still a feature of the town, much to the delight of many a pasta fan visiting Sansepolcro!

With so many historical and cultural sites of interest, including the Civic Museum of Sansepolcro, the Cathedral of Sansepolcro, the Palazzo Pichi Sermolli and the Fortress of Sansepolcro, those seeking some cultural enlightenment are certainly spoilt for choice in the mesmerizing town.

If you want your accommodation to carry on the theme of ancient grandeur and splendor Sansepolcro so magnificently exudes, then staying at Vintage Travel’s castle rental in Tuscany, Castello di Brancialino, is thoroughly recommended.
