Blue lagoon of Vai beach on Crete, Greece

Orthi Ammos Beach

On the south coast of Crete in the Chania region, the sandy beach of Orthi Ammos can be found, which tends to be quieter than other beaches in the area. Situated not far from the village of Frangokastello, the crystal clear water that gently laps Orthi Ammos is set against a backdrop of large sand dunes.

Aspes

With its volcanic marble, cavernous caves carved into the rock and a beach licked by emerald green water, Aspes is a truly beautiful spot to lie and enjoy the natural pleasures this Greek island offers. This remote beach us approximately 58 kilometres from Heraklion and just 4 kilometres from the hamlet of Treis Ekklisies.

Vai Beach

Located to the east of Sitia is the palm-fringed beach of Vai. Legend has it that the palm trees that line Vai grew after Arabian pirates, who landed of the beach, spat out date pips, sowing the seeds for the palm trees!

Whilst a gem of a find and situated within a protected area, Vai does attract beachgoers and is equipped with changing and shower facilities.

Damnoni Beach

Just several kilometres to the west of the village of Plakias on the island’s southern coast, lies the beach of Damnoni. Damnoni boasts quiet coves and bays, which have remained unspoilt and is described as being one of the best secluded beaches on Crete.

Galini Beach

With the boughs of pine trees reaching out to the water and protruding from steep conglomerate rocks, Galini Beach is a picturesque cove on Crete, providing the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the incredible coastal scenery this beautiful island is blessed with.
