With three bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, La Bergerie can sleep between six and eight guests in comfort. The property is located in the Périgord Noir region of the Dordogne, an area well known for its exceptional countryside and abundance of impressive chateaux.

La Bergerie complements the natural splendour of its surroundings, built with local stone and in an unusual shape. The traditional charm of La Bergerie’s façade is continued into its interior, where burnished wooden doors and floors, a stunning stone fireplace and a quirky divider between the living room and the kitchen, craft a striking interior, oozing with character and charm.

Contemporary touches within the property create an endearing mix of old and new. Large sliding glass doors lead from the well-equipped kitchen onto La Bergerie’s covered terrace. The property’s exterior is geared towards al-fresco enjoyment, including wining and dining on the dining terrace and preparing the meal on the built-in barbecue.

A heated private swimming pool invites guests to take a dip, whilst a well-maintained garden enjoying fabulous open views of the fertile Dordogne countryside and flourishing forest, provides the perfect spot to appreciate this exceptionally beautiful part of France.

If you can manage to drag yourself and your party away from La Bergerie, you’ll find all the amenities you’ll need at the delightful 13th century bastide town of Villefranche du Périgord, which is just eight kilometres from the house. The town has been built around ‘La Place de la Halle’, home to a traditional open-sided market hall. Restaurants, shops and bars are plentiful in this traditional Dordogne town, where you’ll really be able to experience traditional life amongst the local people of the Dordogne.

Slightly further afield are the towns of Belves and Monpazier, both of which also have a good selection of shops, restaurants and bars. Weekly markets are key features of these traditional Dordogne towns, where you can pick up local produce and other interesting items.
