Mallorca Rocks 2013 opening night party with Jake Bugg
Despite only being in its forth year, the Mallorca Rocks event is in is already attracting top artists who may well feel the need to have a bit of a “jolly” as they slog their wears around the world music circuit – And who could blame them?
The opening night at Mallorca Rocks 2013, has attracted rising star Jake Bugg, the much lauded English singer/songwriter who is currently riding on the crest of a wave. Hailed by some as the new Bob Dylan and invited on tour with the likes of Noel Gallager and the Stone Roses, Jake Bugg is certainly burning brightly at the moment.
Jake Bugg was born in Nottingham and was brought up on the infamous Clifton housing estate. At just seventeen the youngster was given a slot on the newcomers stage at Glastonbury Festival and because he sounded so outstanding, he instantly won himself a record deal with Mercury Records.
Jake’s influences are said by himself to be Johnny Cash, Jimi Hendrix, the Arctic Monkeys and Oasis. Rather surprisingly the “East Midlands Dylan” does not mention Bob Dylan as being influential to his rising career.
Mallorca in June should be a superb time to watch a really happening gig headlined by a truly rising star. As the spring turns into summer and all the flowers being in full bloom, light nights and a perfect temperature, yes it’s safe to say that Mallorca in June is the time and place to see a Jake Bugg gig.
Mallorca Rocks 2013 goes on from Jake Bugg’s opening night all the way through until September with various acts and DJ’s performing, including Dizzie Rascal and the Vaccines. Other acts are still to be confirmed.
There is always something to see and hear throughout the summertime of a musical nature on the island of Majorca, and this year with Jake Bugg opening the popular summer-long Mallorca Rocks 2013 event, promises to be exceptionally spectacular.
