Olhão Seafood Festival, Algarve

If you are a lover of seafood then you have to add the  Olhão Seafood Festival to your schedule this summer. Held at Jardim Pescador Olhanense and lasting over a week (From August 10th to 15th 2010), the festival attracts over 60,000 visitors and is the biggest of its kind in Europe.

Olhão Seafood Festival

You’ll discover some of Portugal’s best chefs here, demonstrating their skills and preparing some of the finest seafood dishes you’ll ever lay your eyes on. You’ll also find music from South Brazil – original beat samba in full flow.

As you’d expect, the shellfish is some of the finest you’ll find in Europe and mostly arrives from Ria Formosa… you have to experience it to believe it. Tickets are 8 euros (children under 6 years are free, if accompanied by an adult, and from 7 to 12 pay EUR 3) and can be purchased in the days of the Festival box office located at the entrance to the enclosure (from 18.30) or in advance at Ria Shopping Olhão, between 3 and 15 August from 14h00 to 22h00.

Hope to see you there!
