Three things to do on the Costa de la Luz with children

Facing out to the Atlantic, boasting a shoreline of fine, golden sands and upmarket towns, Spain’s Costa de la Luz – Coast of Light – is a pleasure to visit, all year round. With fantastic, child-friendly beaches and plenty to see and do, this Western part of Andalusia is a fabulous place to take the family. Vintage Travel explores three things to do on the Costa de la Luz with children.

1- Zoo de Castellar

The Zoo de Castellar in Castellar de la Frontera is an animal rescue centre. The centre opened in 2002 as a means of providing aid to animals which had been seized by the authorities. The zoo opened to the public and has proven popular in increasing awareness of animal cruelty.

For animal-loving youngsters (and adults) in your party, Zoo de Castellar would be a memorable day out.

You can find out more information about Zoo de Castellar on its official website.

2- Entre Ramas Aventura

If you’re looking for some white-knuckle fun during a holiday on the Costa de la Luz, then look no further than the Entre Ramas Aventura. This popular adventure park is situated in the forest of Roche, just 1km from some of the best beaches of the Costa de la Luz.

From Tarzan vines to zip wires, spider webs to flying cars, there’s plenty to do to keep the whole family enthralled at the Entre Ramas Aventura. In fact, there’s a total of 58 different obstacle courses to test out!

You can find out more about the fun you can have in an adventure park that occupies 18,000m2 of pine forest on the Entre Ramas Aventura website.

3- National park of Doñana

The Natural Park of Doñana is a huge natural park that stretches onto the provinces of Cadiz, Seville and Huelva. Boasting a labyrinth of pine forests, nature reserves, lakes, marshes, beaches, mountains, meadows and cliffs, Doñana Natural Park is a paradise for walking, cycling, nature watching and photography.

There’s also plenty to do to keep the children entertained, such as visiting the visitor’s centre at the Palacio del Acebron and the Sea World Museum.
